Job Description

Matchbox Consulting is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Officer to join a growing construction team. With a portfolio of exciting projects underway across the Lower Mainland, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile projects while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce site safety rules and ensure strict compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and review FLHAs.
• Administer First Aid when necessary and report safety incidents promptly.
• Lead site-specific health and safety orientations for all new site workers and visitors.
• Monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors, providing coaching as required.
• Prepare safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, and investigate incidents.
• Proactively identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain safety.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer ticket.
• Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2) + Transportation Endorsement or Level III (OFA 3) certification.
• Solid knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, and safety standards.
• Experience overseeing health and safety on a construction site.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
