Dietary Aide

Department: Food Services
Location: Berwick, Nova Scotia
Union Status: Unionized
Salary: $18.4753 - $18.7727/hour
Reports to: Director of Food Services

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide to join our dedicated Food Services team. In this role, you'll contribute to the daily well-being of our residents through the preparation and delivery of meals in a caring, efficient, and respectful way.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare trays for resident meals
• Assist with special diet preparation and food serving
• Deliver and retrieve food carts
• Clear trays and tables in dining areas
• Operate dishwashing equipment
• Prepare vegetables, sandwiches, salads, desserts, nourishments, etc.
• Stock supplies, record temperatures, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food areas
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Previous experience in institutional or healthcare food service is an asset
• Interest or experience in working with older adults is an asset
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Comfortable with standing for long periods, working in varied temperatures, and performing repetitive tasks
• Able to lift up to 25 kg
• Criminal Record Check required

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma (Grade 12)
• Food Safety Certification (or willingness to complete)

Work Schedule

Potential shifts include:

Early: 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM

Late: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

4HR: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
