About the Opportunity

• Obtain insurance coverages and any other missing information (e.g. registration fields) from patients who are in the hospital, including patients identified in the system as Anonymous, No Fixed Address etc.
• Help patients fill forms to register for a valid OHIP, IFH, OOP, WSIB and any other relevant card.
• Liaise with Ministry to support patients in registering/renewing their health coverage/card.
• Support newborn parents to apply for the insurance coverage (e.g. OHIP).
• Review files of uninsured patients and support patients to apply for coverage through different means, e.g. CHCs.
• Obtain missing documentation, e.g. PAR and ARF forms from the patients, e.g. patients who have requested preferred accommodation without a signed form.
• Obtain payment information from patients who have dues/charges but don’t have private insurance or payment method on file.
• Call the patients who left the organization without insurance coverage to obtain coverage information and/or support patients to apply/review their healthcard/insurance coverage.
• Call patients who left the organization with missing information or with a missing PAR and/or ARF form, to obtain missing information and/or obtain missing documentation.
• Liaise between teams to bridge workflow gaps in the DMEs, Minor Surgeries etc. billing and collecting prepayment; including supporting and reinforcing clerk training on tasks like collecting payments, generating estimates, and completing ARF forms.
• Go the inpatient areas to collect for the DMEs, when required.
• Reporting and analysis to support Revenue Optimization and Patient Revenue (ROPR) initiative.
• Specific jobs/tasks as assigned for the ROPR taskforce.
• Others as assigned

About You

• 2+ years of experience in a public facing (clients, general public, patients) role
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong ability to assess emotional situations and navigate them based on numerous factors such as protocol, environment, and situation

Salary Range
$65,000 /year

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
