Landscape Labourer

• Wage: $23.75 to $24.63/ hour (salary based on experience, salary increases per company policy)
• Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-time (40-60 hours/week, 8–12-hour days, weather-dependent), Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend; Overtime and holidays may be required.
• Benefits: Dental, Extended Medical (these benefits are cost-shared with the employee paying 50% and the company paying 50%)

Job requirements:

• Language: Basic English
• Education: No education required
• Experience: 2 seasons of related experience.
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Walking, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, Working under Pressure, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks
• Weight Handling: Up to 23kg (50lbs)
• Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
• Work Site Environment: Outdoors, dusty
• Work setting: Landscape contractor, park and recreation sites, urban area, commercial
• Personal Suitability: Reliability, Organized, Team player, Dependability
• Equipment and Machinery Used: Chain saw, Tractor, Tractor mower, Weed trimmer/edger, Lawn mowers, Shovel

Duties:

• Spread top soil, lay sod, plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees, and perform other duties to assist with the construction of a landscape and related structures
• Cut grass, rake, fertilize and water lawns, weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees, and perform other
• Maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor
• Maintain lawns and grass along roadsides
• Operate and maintain power mowers, tractors, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, snowblowers and other landscape maintenance equipment
• Spray and dust trees, shrubs, lawns, and gardens, as directed, to control insects and disease
• Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments
• Assist the foreman with the tree planting according to planting standards
• Assist the foreman with mentoring new workers and safety standards
