Do you love working outdoors and making a visible impact in your community? A Plus Tree is looking for a reliable and hardworking Ground Technician to support our tree planting and watering operations. This hybrid role plays a vital part in ensuring the successful establishment of newly planted trees, from the ground up.

You’ll assist with planting projects, care for young trees, and help maintain a safe and productive work environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arboriculture while supporting the growth of a more sustainable urban canopy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Planting Season:

• Assist with tree planting to high standards, ensuring proper root prep and final appearance.
• Load, unload, and move trees and materials as needed.
• Maintain planting tools and equipment; help keep worksites clean and organized.
• Record planting activity using digital tools like ArborPlus or Google Sheets.

Watering & Maintenance Season:

• Operate a non-CDL water truck to hydrate trees across various city sites.
• Conduct light tree maintenance, including mulching, weeding, staking, and visual health checks.
• Document site visits, watering activity, and note any visible signs of tree stress, damage, or disease.

General Ground Tech Support:

• Follow directions from Crew Leaders and Foremen to complete daily job tasks safely and efficiently.
• Help set up job sites, load tools and gear, and support climbers and planting techs as needed.
• Use rakes, blowers, and other tools to clear job sites and leave properties clean and presentable.

What We’re Looking For:

• Enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Experience with or interest in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture
• Basic comfort with digital tools (Google Sheets, smartphones, or similar)
• Valid driver’s license with ability to drive large trucks (non-CDL)
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
• Must be 18+ years old
