Rope Access - IRATA Level 3 (Full-Time)

We are looking for a qualified IRATA Rope Access Level 3 individual to join our team in a stable, full-time role .

In this role, you’ll be able to take on projects requiring Level 3 Rope Access projects as they come up in Edmonton, AB and surrounding area.

As part of our organizational philosophy, we like our field workers to have the full understanding of “heat management” This involves knowing the Insulation aspect and be willing to learn the electrical aspect as well. In this role we are looking for an insulator willing to learn the electrical side of heat management and gain skills in a trade different from their own.

Responsibilities

  • Hold current IRATA certification as a Level 3
  • Mentoring Level 1 and 2 workers in the field.
  • High levels of awareness and management of worker well-being and safety.
  • Maintain knowledge of current IRATA Guidelines, safety bulletins, and company correspondence and policy

updates. Work to implement a culture of respect for the proper and consistent adherence to the guidelines of this

program;

  • Orientation, mentorship and assessment of rope access team members, includes certification of log books and

forward of rope hours to the safety department for tracking;

  • Determine logistical requirements for success of each project phase. Manage appropriate equipment levels for

efficiency and value.

  • Ensure that they are only using equipment that they have received training on and documented this process
  • Provide leadership at daily job assignment/safety review, tool box meetings and equipment inspections and buddy

checks;

  • Design and deploy rope access systems daily to ensure safe and efficient access to work locations as required by

electrical or other maintenance teams;

  • Lead daily safety meetings, tool boxes and review and sign off on FLHA.
  • Choose rigging systems that allow for both the most efficient access but also the most efficient egress/rescue for

the worker should it be required. In the event of a conflict Level 3 shall choose efficiency of rescue over task;

  • Assign team members to work parties and delegation and supervision of rigging and safe work practices. Primarily

focused on the rope access aspect of the work;

  • Review and update of hazard identification and risk assessment per current site conditions;
  • Ensure the Execution Plan Check list is completed for each job and signed off;
