As a member of the Optum Rx PBM Marketing team, the Sr Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the communications strategy to attract and activate consumers in pharmacy benefit features as well as in navigating changes to their pharmacy benefit coverage to achieve trend management and value targets. This position will have direct involvement in developing and deploying communication materials that reach consumers in our employer, government and health plan markets. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have demonstrated the ability to execute multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced, result-oriented work environment. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for communicating in new and disruptive ways. You should thrive on helping to produce creative solutions and assisting in measuring results. This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to marketing communication strategies: add value through brainstorming, translate objectives and develop or support deliverables
  • Lead end-to-end communication projects. Define requester needs, create and revise content, direct creative and marketing ops partners, meet communication standards, and deliver on time
  • Maintain communication assets. Use established protocols, interface with marketing operations teams, ensure availability for account resources
  • Work with internal and external marketing and creative services to meet program objectives
  • Coordinate consumer research studies to support research on consumer mindset and barriers to adoption
  • Manage project expenses by gathering estimates, obtaining approvals, tracking costs, and submitting invoices
  • Contribute to/create cost benefit analyses in support of campaign enhancements and growth
  • Work with peers to integrate efforts and share best practice

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in supporting consumer marketing/direct response marketing campaigns
  • 3+ years of experience with prioritizing multiple deliverables
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare and/or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry
  • Ability to work in the Eden Prairie, MN, office 4 days weekly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity; self-starter
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and effectively establish priorities
  • Proven ability to work on cross functional teams

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
