Job Description

Hi there. We are a small, fully remote team building high-quality Shopify apps used by thousands of merchants worldwide. We believe in doing less, better, and regularly shipping work. We work a 9 to 4 schedule that helps us avoid burnout, produce great work, and still have time for life.

We are looking for a designer to join our team and help us level up our brand and design. You will create a range of digital designs, marketing assets, and app interfaces, acting as our internal tastemaker to ensure everything we release looks and feels right.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with developers and project leads, bringing ideas to life from early concepts to polished deliverables. Your work will include:

• Designing app store graphics, banners, and marketing visuals that clearly communicate our value
• Creating and refining layouts for magicalapps.com and related landing pages
• Designing clean, intuitive UI for Shopify app features
• Maintaining a consistent brand identity across all Magical Apps products and materials
• Acting as an internal tastemaker, helping us make visual decisions that elevate the quality of what we release

Must-Haves

• High level of design taste. You are the person in your friend group that always has the best design sense.
• Strong portfolio with great layout, color, and hierarchy
• Experience designing responsive websites and digital products
• Proficiency in Figma or Photoshop
• Comfort working across brand, marketing, and UI design

Nice-to-Have

• Photoshop experience (our team leans Photoshop)
• Shopify or SaaS app design experience
• Motion design or light UX skills

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Starting at $65,000 CAD

Workday: Our team works 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, giving you the time and energy to enjoy life outside of work while still doing meaningful, creative work

Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation

Equipment: Company-provided MacBook Pro

Home Office: $1,000 work-from-home setup budget

Location: Fully remote (Canada-based applicants only; must be legally eligible to work in Canada)
