About the Role

• A fast-growing global digital media company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its Japan finance operations. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting foundation, hands-on experience in small to mid-sized companies, and a proactive mindset toward process improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and month-end closing
• Lead financial reporting and ensure compliance with local and international standards
• Manage tax filings and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
• Support consolidation reporting for regional and global finance teams
• Implement and improve internal controls and accounting processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on budgeting and forecasting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in small to mid-sized companies
• Experience with consolidation reporting is highly preferred
• Fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal)
• Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., freee, SAP, or similar)
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
