Job Description

Location: Saint John Allergy Clinic
Wage: Competitive and negotiable based on qualifications and experience
Position: 3 to 4 days weekly (24-32 hours)

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in written and spoken
  • English (required)
  • Bilingualism an asset.
  • Experience in a medical office setting required

Job Description:
The Allergy Office of Drs. Carson, MacDonald and Vaillancourt is a well-established Allergy Clinic serving New Brunswick since the early 1990's. We are looking for an experienced medical Administrative Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative practice. Experience in medical administration is required.

This part-time position involves greeting patients, phone management, scheduling appointments, responding to patient inquiries regarding our services, data entry and record keeping, filing, Medicare billing, managing payments and other administrative duties. This individual will provide support to the clinical staff and management and plays a key role in the organization and flow of clinic operations in our Saint John office.

Responsibilities:

  • Medical Reception
  • Answering phones, greeting, scheduling, and assisting patients
  • Filing, maintaining, and managing patient charts
  • Safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Collaborative work with nurses and physicians.
  • Maintaining a neat and clean office space for patients and staff.
  • Medicare and private billing.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal English proficiency required.
  • Computer skills such as typing, data entry and email required.
  • Adaptability to an always changing schedule and office structure
  • Experience in CareFile system an asset.
  • Bilingualism in spoken and written French at a communicative level considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
